Mrs. Gomathi works as a cook. She has been living with diabetes for the past 13 years and has been a woman of courage and strength throughout her journey. Mrs. Gomathi has had her fair share of challenges right from a very young age, which taught her to not only take on a lot of responsibilities, but also grow up very early on. She lost her father at a young age, left home when she was 14 years old, and travelled to a new city to make a living. Although she was thrown into many challenges, it was the willpower and resilience she learnt from this that helped her face her journey with diabetes. An important part of her tackling diabetes has been to follow her doctor’s advice by incorporating walking and being careful with what she eats. Mrs. Gomthi is a dedicated, hardworking and an inspiration to many women around her.
